    The Pink House

I love this pink house in Duvall. It's on one of the major streets, so I see it almost every day. What I love most about this house is that not only is it pink, but they have huge cherry trees in their front yard so every spring when they blossom it's a pink house with pink trees! (and even pink bushes.) I think this house has become a landmark in Duvall...everyone knows about the Pink House, and we all look foward to Spring so we can see the blossoms. It's a rite of passage. And I know the owner of this home is very proud of her pink house...I see her out white-washing the picket fence or pruning her bushes all the time. She's got to know what an impression her house is making on the community.

What really cracks me up is they also used to have PINK FLAMINGOS in their front yard. I was so dissapointed to see that they are gone...I should have taken a photo last year!

To Clean or Not to Clean

My freelance work has been kind of slow lately...due largely to the holiday season slowing things down. One day last week when I had no work to do and Ethan was in preschool, I found myself in a rare situation at home...*I had nothing to do.*  I went through my mental list of things I could be doing. Christmas Cards? Check. Dishes? Check. Watching Martha's new live show on TLC (recording on Tivo) Check.

Then it hit me.....I COULD CLEAN THE HOUSE.

It was a novel idea, one that I don't think of doing very often. I started with a vaccum job, and then went to work on the bathrooms.

As I approached toilet #3, a new, even more novel idea came to me.... I'd rather be freelancing so I can hire a maid.

Then I spent the rest of the morning watching Dr. Phil.

    (true story :)

    The Meat Website

My friend Bridget showed me the MEAT website today. I don't know why I find this so funny...I guess maybe because I'm a Graphic Designer and the photography and graphics in these old cookbooks were SO BAD.  That and I just have a sick sense of humor :) Not to mention that the guy writing the commentary is pretty darn funny.

I really couldn't stop laughing about this one...Phillip and I were both cracking up.
