May 28 GrandmaMy mother (or aunt?) recently sent me these photos of my grandma. The one of my grandma sleeping just cracked me up because it brought back so many memories...this is *exactly* how I remember her. She was able to sleep sitting up. I always thought that was so funny as a kid! The other photo is my grandma in her early twenties. She was such a lovely person. I hope that when I'm gone people remember me as fondly as I remember her. I wish I could talk to her now that I'm older too because I have a feeling we both had the same kind of outlook on life...it would have been fun to chat with her. She had an adventureous spirit, loved to travel, loved her kids, loved to work and go out to lunch and tea with friends, loved to paint and do artsy craftsy kinds of projects.... hmmm, sounds familiar! :) December 17 Interviews SchminterviewsSo Phillip has been interviewing for a new job and can I tell you, we are feeling emotionally exhausted from this process. Why is it that it takes SO LONG for these companies to make up their minds?? It's so funny because usually it's because they don't have time to interview people because they are so busy doing the job they need to hire someone to do. It's a catch22. Phillip has been talking to Microsoft for months about positions and he's halfway into one interviewing process. The guy is supposed to call him "sometime in the next couple of weeks" to come in for an interview loop. Meanwhile, Disney (or actually WDIG) started talking to Phillip months ago during the summer. Things never progressed so he moved on...but all of the sudden they gave him a call last week! This was an opportunity we didn't know still existed, and needless to say, Phillip is thrilled (so am I ;) So he had another phone interview, an onsite interview on Tuesday, and now today they called him in and said he is a finalist and they want to meet with him again next Wednesday. AAARRRGGGHHH the torture! I really hope we at least have some answers before Christmas. I think that Phillip would be very happy working for Disney...I know I loved it over there (when I was at ESPN who is owned by Disney and part of WDIG...Walt Disney Internet Group.) And hey, we wouldn't mind having those Disney benefits back... half our vacations are Disney-related. :)
Updates on this to come...hopefully they involve a job offer soon so poor Phillip can be done with this already. |
